My experience - Dengue Fever.

It's been a while since the last time I update this blog haha. Happy new year guys! Hope your new year filled with happiness!

Okay, so last month I had a terrifying fever experience, which is Dengue fever. Man, I don't even want to experience that ever again.

At first, my sister was the one who had a fever, thank god the fever is not that bad like I read from the internet, mostly they said about dengue fever is scary and I just really hope that she didn't die or something.

Definition of Dengue fever :

Dengue fever is a mosquito-borne tropical disease caused by the dengue virus. Symptoms typically begin three to fourteen days after infection. This may include a high fever, headache, vomiting, muscle and joint pains, and a characteristic skin rash.

skin rash on hand.

How dangerous is Dengue fever?

If the patient develops severe dengue, there will be bleeding spots on the skin and other parts of the body and leakage of blood plasma. Severe dengue fever can damage the lungs, liver or heart. Blood pressure can drop to dangerous levels, causing shock and, in some cases, death.

The Horror...

After 7 days, she noticed rashes on the arms, legs, and torso with redness. That's when she went to see a doctor and the doctor confirmed that she has the dengue. Since her dengue is not that bad, no leakage of blood plasma or something, she just drank a lot of guava juice, barley drink, water, crab soup, and of course the fever medicine. The doctor said to go to the clinic to check on the blood whether the platelet increase or not. if the platelet didn't increase she has to stay at the hospital. It can be dangerous if the platelet didn't increase.

I got this from the hospital.

In my case, my fever was, of course, it's on and off, seriously annoying because when I took my meds I thought that I'm well already but it didn't! I didn't vomit or can't wake up at all, it's just my tummy hurt after I ate and took my medicine. I need to take Gaviscon (gastric medicine) first. I also had diarrhoea.

And so from 1st January until 7th January, I have to take my meds, drank guava juice, ate crab soup ( I wanna cry because of the smell ), drank a lot of water, ate meat, drank lots of oral rehydration salts drink and so on. My hands and feet started to feel itchy and I cried. But after two days finally the itchiness and fever were gone and Alhamdulillah I'm still alive.
